Manikas George BelgiumI would very much argue that the traineeship that I had the opportunity to undergo helped me to further develop my skills and competences. It developed my skills in multiple levels, not just academically but also I evolved socially and got to know and experience many cultures, European and international. My knowledge of European law expanded and I had the unique opportunity to interact with major stakeholders of the international law arena. My passion, which is Moot Court Competition a major part of the law studies in every University, significantly impacted my future.

Ghaysaa Kataya UKMy Erasmus participation is one of the best things I’ve done in my four years of studies. I spent a traineeship period at a start-up company NDB in London, UK for 5 months. I was having second thoughts about participating in the Erasmus at the beginning, as I wasn’t sure if I could manage to cope abroad considering my situation. But I didn’t want to miss an opportunity like this and I’m very happy I haven’t hesitated and proceeded on with the mobility arrangements.
This experience taught me how a diverse working environment looks like. My colleagues were people from different countries, with different backgrounds and experiences. I was treated like a peer and not as an unexperienced student. The directors of the NDB, very well known for their work, gave me the opportunity to meet and discuss with distinguished businessmen and CEO’s from all over Europe, China and America. I had the opportunity also to visit the Cavendish Laboratory and the University of Cambridge for business purposes.
Living in London was an excellent experience for me. I always wanted to visit the UK and the Erasmus program offered me this opportunity. The diversity of people I have met and the discussions I have with them, make me realize that if you wish for something and you work hard you will achieve it, regardless the background or the disability you may have. My mobility experience is one of those things I wish for and I couldn’t have achieved if it wasn’t for the Erasmus Program. If I have the chance to go through it again, I’ll do it without any hesitation.

De Sousa Dantas Mária & Morfaki KimberlyHotel Tourism and event Management is the field of study that I chose 4 years ago and challenge myself to study somewhere else was something that I always wanted. Getting in IBS with the courses selected with my home institution were mandatory classes that even with its different way of learning, the seminars were related with what I had to learn in order to complete my program. The Erasmus experience was unique and the program that I will always suggest to other students. Hungary was lovely and amazing. The country is full of things to do and no matter where you go, you can always find people of different nationalities. Is the country that I would like to come back and have more time to enjoy and maybe work one day.
Kimberly: I did face a language barrier difficulty but only outside the university. Inside the university was all English speaking professors and students that knew how to speak fluently English. Overall the experience that I’ve gained was very life changing, without this program I would not think I could have study outside my country and experience this different culture and friendships that I gained. In my professional field it helped a lot as I have been scared moving in another country for work but this experience has influenced me to want to work in another country and a whole different culture.

Dr. Maria Christopoulou, Assistant ProfessorIn the BD meeting the main issues where the development of a new communication program for awareness and training purposes in the field of social work and social services to people in poverty, in need for family improvement and best practices for professionals to serve this population including refugees, home and family issues, abandoned children, communication disorders and inclusion to educational and social programs. Also, new descriptions of the world News, as the editor of the association to promote best practices and inform colleagues about new programs and advancement in the professional services and adjustments. During the conference having a dual role as a translator French to English and vice versa I learned a lot about many other related subjects and issues related to social deprivation and social problems faced in the different countries in different ways so gathered a lot of insight information on best practices abroad and ways to deal with today’s social problems and a more efficient and pragmatic way. Sharing information and having the chance to do workshops on International exchanges and best practice gave a good insight to my personal educational and professional advancements but also I was able to offer them a variety of things we do in Cyprus to face this kind of issues or similar ones. More so, we managed to agree to do international research projects together thus enhancing networking, good collaboration, exchange of knowledge and team work for c crucial issues concerning all of us. Everything was good, and most importantly we had the chance to promote ERASMUS programs, along with other EU programs and had a great interest from our colleagues to look into this possibility and do ERASMUS programs themselves. We also want to include student participation and expand our work to this younger population.
It opened new doors for me and my university, has enhanced the work and the efforts I have done to indicate the benefits of this program and next year we are organizing an exchange program her in CY and hopefully other colleagues will do this for their countries. The aim is to manage to use this program for our development and networking more in the future and involve younger professional with students. Also, having the chance to be with the mayor of St. Malo, and her having the chance to see the work we do worldwide was very eager to help us get in touch with other municipalities and introduce social programs to assist the society and make better communities. A big issue was the refugees, the bilingual/multilingual children now in all countries and in schools the way they cope themselves and their families to adopt in the new environments and manage to cope with the systems.
